Lynn Gentile, B.A.AID Principal Designer

A graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Lynn received a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design in 1988. She has practiced interior design in Canada and abroad including a term in London, England working on high end residential and commercial projects including upgrades to the English National Opera building. Lynn also gained experience with Yabu Pushelberg, Canada’s premier hospitality and retail design firm. In her role as Senior Project Designer she led the design concepts for a number of top Canadian retail brands as well as international clients.

The appeal of the west coast and the healthy mountain lifestyle of Whistler, British Columbia lured Lynn away from the city life of Toronto. Her new environment and lifestyle were also the impetus for ‘Spin Designs”, a line of home accessories that were marketed throughout Canada and the US. The designs were featured on the pages of Canadian House and Home and Flare magazines and were selected to be part of a national exhibition showcasing Canadian female contemporary visual artists.

Lynn established Cabin Fever Interiors in 1999, expanding her portfolio to offer a full range of residential interior design and project management services. Lynn stays current with design trends and has had the privilege of being part of a Canadian architectural delegation invited to Italy on several occasions to visit the Abitare il Tempo and Marmotec design shows, showcasing the latest in International design and manufacturing. Lynn has been active in promoting green construction and design practices in Whistler and is involved with the Canada Green Building Council.

Teamwork

Teamwork is key to our success. Our team of trained designers bring a level of professionalism and creativity to our projects. Our open concept studio invites creativity among our team and a collaborative and playful approach to design. Natural light, big windows and views of the mountains and forest outside offers inspiration and a reminder to respect our natural environment.

“I am passionate about reflecting nature in the interiors I create. The texture, rhythm and palettes found in our surrounding environment are often the genesis of a great design concept. The integration of basic materials such as wood, stone, metal and glass is what brings the concept and the features of a space to life. The goal is conveying a feeling of harmony, imparting a refined sense of balance and the relationship between the interior and exterior spaces.”
